Can you be in the army reserve AND attend a police academy?

Im thinking about joining the army reserve but i also want to become a deputy sheriff. Is it possible to be in the reserves with once a month drill and be in the basic academy at the same time? I still need my AA or bachelors in criminal justice which the reserve will help with the schooling. THANKS!
