I found out my boyfriend is a former sex offender. What should I do?

I've currently been dating an older man ( he's 38 and I'm 22) for the last 3 months. Today, I found out (on my own) that when he used to be a deputy sheriff, he got sent to prison for sodomizing a 15-yr boy that he met online. It turns out this happened in 2002 and he was sent to prison for it after losing his job at the sheriff department. Also, when I tried looking up his full name on several people search databases like Intelius, I would always find 1 or 2 people with his same full name (his name is kinda unusual) and former addresses, but the age would always be listed as 54. He looks slightly more mature for his age but not too old. Does that mean he's been lying about his age? Should I confront him with all this information? I feel so stupid for being so blind.
