I had possession of fraudulent documents and submitted them in a private meeting with deputy prosecutors.?

They were aquired by another person and that person altered them as well before he handed them to me to turn in. I failed to check the quality of the documents before i submitted them and am now facing charges. Because I failed to check the quality of the letters, I did not know they were fraudulent. Do I have a defendable case?
