How can I get someone to stop snubbing me on Sims 3 Generations?

So my sim has the reputation "Exploring their choices" for her dating life and one of her ex boyfriends she keeps having wishes to go on dates with him so I tried to get them back together but he keeps saying that "She is misbehaving and if continues will have to leave" then he started snubbing my sim! I have (Or should have) The choice to use smooth recovery but it NEVER comes up, not even if I flirt with the sim and it goes bad. I am level 6 for charisma so I should have a choice to use Smooth Recovery. Please help I have no clue how to make the other sim stop snubbing my sim!!
