Official divorce summons?

My husband's coworker handed me a divorce summons written by his lawyer. It contains many mistakes and does not have a court number or court date. It appears it was never filed in court at all. I didn't sign anything either. Is this an official summons because I was under the impression that a summons meant it was already started with the courts and delivered by a sheriff deputy.
